About Control Studios

Built by competitors. Designed for reality.

Control Studios exists to build software for competitive robotics and focused productivity. We believe that tools should not just look good—they must perform under the harsh constraints of competition. Our software is forged from real experience on the field and in the classroom, with an uncompromising emphasis on reliability, speed, and offline-first design.

Our Philosophy

Offline-first by default

Competition venues have unreliable Wi-Fi. Our tools are built to work perfectly without it.

Minimal, fast interfaces

Clarity over clutter. Every millisecond counts when you are in the queue or the pit.

No unnecessary data

We respect privacy. We don't collect data we don't need. Your strategies are yours.

Built for reality

Software designed for the chaos of real environments, not the perfection of ideal ones.

The Origin

Control Studios was created by Henry Van Ness, a student competitor who saw a gap between the tools available and the tools needed. Inspired by firsthand experience in VEX Robotics and rigorous academic work, the initiative began not as a business, but as a solution to personal frustrations.

Our software grew out of solving real problems—calculating precise paths, scouting matches without internet, and managing intense workloads—rather than market research. It is software built by someone who has been in the arena.

Practical tools. Thoughtful design. User-first philosophy.
